4. Start the claims process. As soon as the previous steps have been completed, call an agent immediately. It is important to start the claims process as quickly as possible. It is easier to forget information when waiting longer to start it. There are convenient mobile apps provided by most insurance companies now that make the claims process easy to start and track. They provide insurance information, tips and a platform to upload photos of the scene. There are also options for scheduling appraisals and finding rental cars if needed. With some apps, there are more high-tech features that allow users to recreate the accident scene and much more. All details should be as accurate and thorough as possible. When unsure about something, be sure to call an agent. Insurers want the claims process to be as easy as possible for policyholders. Start a file of all the claim notes and documents.
